Our resourceful international volunteers
Meet the Hostetler family (USA), the Rochat family (Switzerland) and Tomas Kehus (Holland)
We met Jess and Jae Hostetler and their 2 children, Jaelee and Jake in 2020 when they spent 3 months on Mayreau.
We are excited for the Hostetlers to join Twalzan Eden Rest as International Volunteer Staff from March to September 2021.
Jess and Jae are resourceful people with knowledge in construction, hospitality and permaculture gardening. They understand the culture on Mayreau and have integrated quickly into the island family in the small village of 300 inhabitants.
They are helping with the current construction project, hosting our beneficiairies and take care of the site and grounds. They are well on the way or researching what it take to develop a "food forrest".
We are pleased to have Stany and Isabelle Rochat and their 4 children Elyon, Noah, Liora and Anaïs for 3 months from July to September to help with various tasks.
Stany is an electrical engineer and is fixing, improving and installing electrical fixtures in the 4 current buildings of the Center.
Isabelle, a speech and language therapist, is helping with cooking creative and tasteful meals for guests and crew.
They have a servant heart and give hands where ever there is a need.
We are excited to have Tomas Kehus for 6 weeks to help us document the garden that has been established by Jess and Jae and write a report on the project of growing food and having a food forrest on Mayreau.
Tomas is a student at AUC in Amsterdam researching the agriculture implications of AI. He is interested in sustainable agriculture. His knowledge and research abilities will contribute to evaluate the agriculture sustainablitiy on Mayreau as a pilot project.
